Synopsis: In 198 BC, Cao Cao, the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty, defeats China's greatest warrior, Lv Bu, instilling fear among warlords. Years later, after taking the Han Emperor under his wing, Cao crowns himself King of Wei and builds the magnificent Bronze Sparrow Island to symbolize his power. Rumors spread that he intends to replace the Emperor. Meanwhile, young lovers Mu Shun and Ling Jv are taken from a prison camp to a hidden tomb, where they spend five years being trained as assassins for a secret mission. In 220 BC, astronomical signs predict dramatic change, leading Cao's son and followers to urge him to become the new Emperor, while opposing forces plot against him.
